Synopsis: When their father passes away, two siblings find themselves back in the same home for the first time in years. As grief lingers in the air, old wounds surface surrounding cultural identity, immigration struggles, and unspoken expectations. Through the stillness and halting conversations, a single quiet gesture becomes a symbol of showing up.

STORY BREAKDOWN

ACT I - The Return
The family gathers after the funeral. Michael’s arrivalstirs quiet tension. First exchanges are stiff, layered with unspoken resentment.
ACT II - The Rift
Through a flashback, we see an argument between Miguel and Papa’ over identity and cultural responsibility. Back in the present, conversations between Miguel, Luz and with Mamá reveal the depth of the divide.
ACT III - The Gesture
Months later, Miguel prepares for his day. He places an “I Voted” sticker on his chest. In the small, wordless moment, we sense his
decision to show up, to be part of his family’s story again.
